How It Works The Result Wizard is a search tool with one goal: to bring you the results you want using all available resources. When a user makes a query, Result Wizard sends it out to several search engines and compiles the results using the sophisticated ranking methods before presenting the final results to the user. The Request Upon recieving the query, Result Wizard sends out requests to several of the major search engines according to the proritized item (relevancy, quality, or popularity). If no results were returned, Result Wizard then sends the query to all the major search engines, digging deeper for results. Still, if no results were returned, Result Wizard would request results from the secondary set of search resources, consisting of a large number of smaller search engines, newsgroups, and miscellaneous search resources. This process is summarized in the diagram below:
The Ranking With a set of over 45 results, Result Wizard uses its advanced ranking techniques to sort out the results from best to worst and displays the top 15 of them to the user. Using deep crawl would greatly expand this process. With the deep crawl feature on, each page would be crawled by the server and carefully examined. The information collected from the crawl would allow Result Wizard to rank the pages more accurately and save more of your time.
